Synopsis

A couple are expecting friends for dinner, but they never arrive…
Is it an accident, a separation, a burglary? In their search for the reason for their absence, the man and woman argue about their friends’ couple. Naturally, the woman takes the side of her friend Catherine, and the man of his colleague David. Confronting their radically opposed visions, they engage in a series of absurd misunderstandings and intimate revelations, unwittingly calling into question the very foundations of their own relationship.

The Play

“La Perruche” premiered in France at the Théâtre de Paris in September 2017, starring Barbara Schulz and Arié Elmaleh. An immediate success, the show played from 2017 to 2019 in Paris. In 2018, a 60-date tour was given across the biggest venues in France, Belgium and Switzerland. The press from the major newspapers was unanimous, and in 2019, the play was recorded and broadcast on television by Canal+. In total, the play was performed 200 times with over 75,000 spectators.
Since then, “La Perruche” has been produced in Honk Kong and has been touring since 2019 in Berlin, Munich, Frankfurt and Hamburg with the same success. It was the most popular foreign play in Germany in the years 2022 and 2023. It will soon be adapted in Belgium, Spain and Argentina.
